This device is a rapid exchange Balloon Dilatation Catheter. Inculding a dual-lumen coaxial structure at the distal end of the catheter. The end of outer lumen connects a balloon. The inner lumen permits the use of guidewire (≤0.014in/0.36mm is recommended) to facilitate advancement of the balloon dilatation catheter to and through the stenostic to be dilated. The proximal end of the catheter is a single-lumen stainless steel metal tube (Hypo tube) , connected to a hub fo attachment to the balloon infation device.
The balloon is designed to provide inflatable segments of known diameter and length at recommended pressure. The Catheter is coated with a lubricious hydrophilic coating on the outer surface which reduces friction during mainpulation.
Catheter tip tapering as tapered tip to facilitate the catheter through the stenosis. Marker bands aid in the placement of the catheter balloon segment under X-ray fluoroscopice guidance.
This device is used to dilate the stenosis of intracranial arterial vessels through the neuovascular delivery catheter.
